Automated External Defibrillation (AED)

There are many cases of cardiac arrest leading to death in the UK each year.  AED equipment used by a trained operator can significantly increase the chances of survival in cases of cardiac arrest - if the situation is dealt with quickly (within 5 minutes).  AED units should be considered in workplaces where there are large numbers of employees or visitors.  They have also been found beneficial in work places sited in remote locations.

This course aims to train the first aider in the proficient use of defibrillators which most delegates find intuitive and straightforward.  The course will explain the theory and practice of defibrillation and gives delegates hands on experience to build confidence and competence.  This course can also be added to any of the first aid courses run by Stewart First Aid Training Limited.  A certificate of attendance is awarded on successful completion of the course.
